Hi Darcie, My family will be visiting WDW this fall. We have 3 kids the youngest being 3 with Down's. She is mobile but quite small for her age (under 25lb.and very short). Will there be many things for her to enjoy? Thanks for your help.

There will be plenty for her to enjoy Cynthia!  My little one was just under two the first time we took her to WDW and I have such magical memories of that trip with her.  She, too, is small in stature but there were many attractions she was able to enjoy.  Basically, you'll need to either avoid the rides with height restrictions, or divide and conquer.  For instance, perhaps your husband can take the older two children on Space Mountain (provided they meet the height requirement of course) while you take your youngest daughter over to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority.  The good news is that you'll likely be able to find a child-friendly attraction or play area nearby the attractions that have height requirements.

A lot of guests wonder if little ones are permitted on attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean, or Kilimanjaro Safaris.  They absolutely are!  We took my four-month-old on Pirates and last year my son was just thirteen months when we rode Kilimanjaro Safaris.

At 3, your daughter will likely look on in wide-eyed wonder when you walk down Main Street at the Magic Kingdom.  The colors and performers and scenery throughout the resort will serve as curious new sights for your daughter to discover.  She'll likely adore Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom as well as the familiar characters at every turn.

I hope this trip with your special little girl is as magical as my first trip with mine was!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
