Hi Darcie! Me again. Decided 10/20/13, 6 nites at Cont w/ hopper. My concern with MNSSHP going on is that we will miss a lot of nights at MK. My next ? is whether to book a package & hope for free dining or room only & hope for dsct. Your thoughst

Hey Vickie!  I'm so glad you followed up with me.  I understand your concern regarding missing Magic Kingdom nights due to the park closing early for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  I wouldn't sweat it too much if I were you.  The party is scheduled to occur every other night during your stay, for a total of three nights.  Hopefully you'll buy tickets for one of those nights, which would rule out just two other nights.  I can assure you that you will have plenty to see at both Epcot and Hollywood Studios at night, so your other two nights are covered.

As for how to book, if it were me, I might hold out for a free dining option.  Just to clarify, the Moms have no insight as to what discounts will be released when, so I'm purely offering speculative advice here.  That said, Disney has offered a free dining promotion for late October guests each year for the last three years, with the offers being announced in late July to mid August.  If one does not become available by mid August, you could always switch over and hope for a room only discount offer.  Good luck!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
