Hi Moms and Dads, We have 3 adults and 2 children headed to WDW in Sept. Which resort would you recommend Port Oleans or the Wilderness Cabins? We will not spend much time in our rooms, and are planning on purchasing the dinning plan. Thanks

    Hi Linda!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

The cabins at Fort Wilderness are wonderful.  They provide a lot of room and some privacy.  However, I generally only recommend staying at Fort Wilderness if you have your own car.  Fort Wilderness is a large place requiring its own internal bus system.  To get anywhere except for the Magic Kingdom, you take an internal bus to a point at the end of Fort Wilderness and then transfer to another bus going to a theme park, water park, or Downtown Disney.  This can make for long trips if you don't have your own car.

Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite Disney Moderate Resort.  I love its theming and its food court.  I also love the boat service to Downtown Disney; taking a boat is especially fun and relaxing at night.  Port Orleans Riverside also has a great pool with a relatively long water slide.

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
