Hi Moms and Dads! My Mom and I are taking a spur of the moment trip to Disney in 30 days but just for 3 days. Is it worth it to get memory maker? Also if we decide not to get the Memory Maker can we still put photos on our magic bands to purchase later?

Hi Caroline! Thanks for stopping by to see us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

How fun that you and your mom just up and decided to visit Walt Disney World together. I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time! While you're there, stop by Guest Relations and pick up an "I'm Celebrating" button. It doesn't have to be for a specific occasion - you can be celebrating your wonderful time together.

There are so many photo opportunities at Walt Disney World that you may find you want every single one of those pictures you've posed for. With Memory Maker, you and your mom can both be in the picture, and you'll have photos not only from all of the PhotoPass photographers all over the parks, but also onboard rides like Splash Mountain and Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, at character meet-and-greets, and at some dining locations. Memory Maker also adds onboard ride videos on select attractions and animated "Magic Shots" that include a little surprise in your photo.

If you don't want to add the extra expense of Memory Maker, you can still view and purchase any of the PhotoPass photos you take around the parks. The photographer will just scan your MagicBand and the photos will be added to your account. When you get home, just check out your photos and choose only the ones you want to buy. This may be a better option for you if you won't ride many thrill rides or meet a lot of characters.

If you do decide to pick up Memory Maker, be sure to do so at least three days before you leave for your vacation so you can take advantage of the lower advance purchase price.

I hope that helps you capture all the memories of your mother-daughter trip, Caroline. Have a magical day!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
