Hi Moms (and Dads). Taking a cruise on the Dream and wondering if the times for the disembarkments at the ports are strictly adhered to? Eg: Nassau is 8:30-4:30...do we need to leave ship at 8:30 or can we leave at say 10 and return at 2? Thank you

    Hi, Lindsey!

The time frame given for ports of call are for guests to know when the gangway is open. For instance, if it's open between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., guests (with stateroom keys and proper ID) can come and go as they please. You'll just not want to test the closing time at the end of the day. The ship is on a schedule, and if you're late, you'll have to find your own way to the next port or back to the home port -- at your own expense!

The only exception is when you're on a Disney Cruise Line sponsored port adventure, and the excursion has been delayed.  In that case, the tour operators notify the ship, and the ship either waits for those guests or has complimentary transportation arranged for them to meet the ship at the next port.

I hope that helps you plan your days at port. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
