Hi moms and dads! Staying at POFQ for a week in November. With 2 little ones, we'd like to try and stay close to the busses/dining. Which Buildings should we request? Would upgrading to a room with a "certain view" help us to be more central?

    Hi Tamra!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

Port Orleans French Quarter is a very nice place to stay.  Remember that as a guest there, you can also use all of the services and amenities, including the pool, at Port Orleans Riverside.  It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk between the two resorts depending on how fast you walk; you can also take a boat between the two resorts.

A lot of guests like to request a particular building and even a particular room number.  However, I don't think that's the way to go if you want to just be close to the main building.  That's because if that building is full then the Disney Cast Member helping you isn't really sure what you would like; they don't know if you want to stay close to something or if you just wanted to be in that particular building because you stayed there on a previous trip and just want to relive a memory.

Thus I recommend instead putting in a room request that says something along the lines of "we would like to stay in a room closest to the front desk or to the bus stop".  That gives the Disney Cast Member more flexibility in trying to meet your request.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
