Hello Mom's and Dads, This September my family and I will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. In past years AKL had free activities like night vision goggles and flamingo feeding. I can't find them on the Disney website. Are these activities still offered?

    Hi Steven!

I just got back from my first trip staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and it was such a fantastic place to stay. We were blown away by all of the activities available at the resort. My husband and I enjoyed a nice morning getting breakfast at The Mara and then strolling the resort grounds to view wildlife on the Savannas. We loved chatting with the Savanna Guide Cast Members along the way! I brought back the resort Recreation Calendar for May with me and confirmed that both the Flamingo Activity, where kids can learn about feeding the flamingos, and the Night Vision Animal Viewing are currently daily activities this month. We also saw families enjoying the Animal Tracking activity where kids learned about how animal experts track real wildlife.

Since all activities are subject to change, I would recommend stopping by the concierge desk to pick up an updated Recreation Calendar when you arrive to see all of the activities featured during your trip and to make sure you have the times and days that each activity will be available. I know I am really hoping to experience the Wine Tasting at Jiko - The Cooking Place on my next trip!

    T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
