Hi Lori Ann, and thank you for your question. How exciting that you’ve decided to return to Walt Disney World! I love the early stages of trip planning and I’ve got some suggestions for you.
The
Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival ends on June 3, 2019, so if you go right at the beginning of the month, you’ll have a chance to see the amazing topiaries, sample the delicious food booths, and get your groove on at the Garden Rocks Concert Series.
Another bonus of a June visit is that you will typically find both Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park open and ready for swimmers to soak up some sun and cool off in the waves.
The Disney Parks Blog recently posted a story outlining
19 new and limited-time experiences coming to Walt Disney World in 2019, and many of these should be open in time for a June visit. I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as you plan your visit, as new experiences are usually first announced there.
Weather-wise, June is very hot and can be rainy, but it’s easy to manage if you’re prepared. Bring a poncho, a hat and sunscreen, and be sure to drink plenty of water and take breaks in the air-conditioning and at your resort pool. I always pack battery-powered handheld fans and cooling towels in my backpack on summer park days, and ice cream breaks are a must!
I hope this information helps get you started on choosing your vacation dates, Lori Ann. Please come back and see us if you have any further questions as you plan and dream.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
