Hi there, Kristen!
Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, it's so nice to meet you!
I'm very sorry that your dad's favorite treat is missing from the resort. Items at
Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen and
Trolley Treats often change, and I haven't spotted the Fudge Mallow Squares in a very long time. My own dad loved the orange cream fudge they used to make and we haven't seen it in years. We know just how you feel!
I did take a peek at the current menu and I wonder if your dad might like the Rocky Road with Almonds. It's cubed marshmallows and chopped almonds dipped in milk chocolate. No fudge, but it still sounds pretty good! It might be worth a try.
I'll also share that living in Utah has taught me to get a bit creative when I'm craving a treat from the parks. I've managed to recreate many favorite items at home, including churro toffee and DOLE Whip! It looks like the Fudge Mallow Squares included a layer of fudge, a layer of marshmallow, and a sprinkle of chopped walnuts all dipped in milk chocolate. I bet with a little bit of experimenting you could make them at home! It could be a fun thing to try with your dad, especially during the holidays.
Did you see the announcement this week about all the
new destinations coming to the Downtown Disney District? One of them is the Disney Wonderful World of Sweets store, which is said to be bringing some new treats. Maybe some older treats will make a surprise return? Time to start wishing on a star!
I am sorry I don't have a more delicious answer for you, Kristen. But I hope you'll be able to enjoy all the sweets and joy of the holidays in the parks!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
