Hi. Moms and Dads. DL questions. Possibly trying DL in 2015. Can I book 499 days in advance like WDW.? How many days should I book? I have heard different theories about length if stay. This will be only trip to DL so need to make the most of it. TY

    Hi, Paula!

I’m glad you’re interested in planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort, and spring is a wonderful time to visit sunny Southern California! You can currently book resort hotel rooms through for check-in dates up to and including Dec. 31, 2014 only. When the rates and package details for 2015 are released (typically in the late summer), you’ll be able to book your vacation online, by calling the Walt Disney Travel Company, or with the help of your travel agent.

Since this is your first visit, I suggest visiting for at least four days to experience all the resort has to offer, from the Downtown Disney District to the theme parks, including Cars Land and Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure Park. Fantasy Faire also recently opened right next to Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park. It’s an enchanting world where the stories of Disney's fairy tale princesses and princes come to life! Since you'll be coming from the East Coast, you may want to build more time into your itinerary to allow for some rest, relaxation and pool time after your long journey.

Each of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels has its own benefits. Paradise Pier Hotel is usually the least expensive and the rooms have a fun, beach-inspired décor. Rooms at the Disneyland Hotel are quite large and include chic furnishings with a touch of Disney magic, including headboards featuring fiber-optic fireworks for your very own in-room light and music show! My personal favorite is Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa because it’s the closest to the parks and features a private entrance into Disney California Adventure Park. Guests can walk from their hotel room to a theme park in just a few minutes!

I hope this information is helpful, Paula. Please write back with any other questions you may have as you plan your pixie-dusted vacation!

    Wishing you magic,
