Hi Moms & Dads! I am 16 days from WDW! I have a severe shellfish allergy. I plan to send an email to the Dietary Requests. My ? is what info do I need to include & should I expect an answer back? Should I request to speak to the chef?

Hi Ashley! Disney requests that all dietary restrictions be added to your dining reservation when they are made.  If this has not been done then please do this before your arrival. When you are greeted by your wait staff at the restaurants please communicate this restriction to him/her at that time as well. Never think the information has been successfully transmitted to the chef before your arrival as many things can happen that might not allow this to take place.  The most important person to relate your information to will be your server at the restaurant. You will then be introduced to a chef who will take down all the information that is needed to prepare you a safe and allergy free meal.

If you are wishing to eat at a quick service location anywhere on property please ask to speak to a manager and ask to see the menu's list of ingredients for each of the choices served. This will allow you to make good choices for yourself.

Disney is prepared to help all their guests with any sort of dietary restriction. Please don't ever hesitate to ask questions to the chefs as they are there to prepare the best meal for your needs!
