Hi Moms and Dads! Considering AP for family of 5. Considerable expense. However, we will be going at least 20 days/365. R AP eligible for free dining? Does cost savings of AP outweigh free dining. Family of five but willing to split meals as they are big.

    Hi Paula!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

Since you are going for at least 20 days, getting an Annual Pass is definitely the way to go.  It can really help with discounts throughout Walt Disney World, including Annual Pass discounts on rooms.  Most Free Dining discounts require you to purchase a minimum number of theme park days; but for example, you can stay there for a week, get free dining for a week, purchase two theme parks days to qualify, and then use your Annual Pass for the rest of the days.  However, you can usually do better with an Annual Pass discount on a room and using a Tables in Wonderland dining discount card.  Tables in Wonderland is restricted to Annual Pass holders and Florida residents.  I personally love my Tables in Wonderland card and think it is really the way to go in terms of dining discounts.  That's because you can use it to get 20% off at Table Service restaurants and still get an Annual Pass room discount.  So you kind of get the best of both worlds!

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
