    Hi Moms (and Dads)! We will be arriving in 9 days and I was thinking about getting tickets for the Very Merry Christmas Party. My kids 7 & 9 have never been to WDW. Is this something extra special? What unique things happen at the event?

    Hi John!

    Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a lot of fun.  There's a special parade and special fireworks; there's also special shows and a character dance party in the Magic Kingdom.  There's even free cookies and hot chocolate at select locations throughout the Magic Kingdom.

    If your budget allows, I recommend going.  It will definitely put you in the holiday spirit.  Just in keep in mind, however, that the party doesn't start until 7 pm and runs until midnight.  Thus if your children aren't able to stay up late, it might not be worth the extra expense.  While i absolutely love the party myself, I don't think taking my own children has been a good value in the past because we never stayed at the party long enough.
