Hiya Aubrey - welcome to
planDisney!
Thanks so much for stopping by with your question for our team of panelists. We love to help Guests just like you plan magical Walt Disney World Resort vacations!
Walt Disney World is a magical place for
all Guests to make memories, and there are
several services Disney makes available to help! One such option is the
Disability Access Service (DAS) which is designed to help Guests who may have challenges using the traditional queues at various attractions and experiences. If you feel that your son might benefit from this accommodation, I encourage you to look into it!
Online pre-registration for DAS can be completed no more than 30 days prior to and up to two days before your arrival to Walt Disney World Resort. If you do complete pre-registration online, you'll have the option to make some attraction selections in advance which is a great perk. There can sometimes be a significant wait for online registration due to its popularity. Don't worry if you aren't able to register online - it's also easy to register in person at a
Guest Relations location inside a Theme Park.
Once a Guest is registered for DAS, you are able to use the
My Disney Experience Mobile App to select a return time for an attraction when you are inside a Theme Park. This is typically about the same wait that the regular standby queue has at that time. The great news is that instead of waiting in the standby queue, the person registered for DAS and up to five additional Guests can spend that time waiting elsewhere in a more ideal environment of your choosing.
When your return time comes up, simply return and use the Lightning Lane to access the attraction with very minimal wait. After you experience one attraction, you can then make another return time selection for a new attraction!
I hope this information is helpful as you plan your upcoming trip. You'll be visiting during the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration, full of exciting new experiences, including my new favorite attraction,
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT - make sure to check it out!
