Hi moms & dad. Thks for all the great info.? is, if you book a Fantasmic Dining Exp and you are on DDP does meal count for 1 table service credit and are you charged extra for show. Also, which offers more Disney magic Mama Melrose or Hollywood?

You certainly can use dining plan credits to pay for the Fantasmic Dinner Package, we did so last September during our visit.  If you dine at Mama Melrose or Hollywood and Vine you will be charged one meal credit.  If you dine at Hollywood Brown Derby, you will be charged two credits because this location is one of Disney's Signature restaurants.  You will not be charged anything over and above what the dinner package costs but these reservations do require a credit card deposit.  There is a fee if you don't cancel at least 48 hours before the reservation.

Mama Melrose sometimes gets bad reviews, but every single person in our party of ten thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there last year.  The food was very good, the atmosphere was charming and festive, and our service was right on par with what you'd expect from at Disney.  Toward the end of the meal costumed performers (one of whom we presumed was Mama Melrose herself) meandered through the dining room and made conversation with guests.  It was very fun!

I can't speak to Hollywood and Vine because we've yet to try that location.  The Hollywood Brown Derby, though, has delicious food.  I don't find the atmosphere to be quite as intimate as what we experienced at Mama Melrose, but that's not to say that it wasn't equally enjoyable.

    Happy dining and enjoy Fantasmic!
