My Dad is taking our family to WDW! He wants to stay at AKL but is leaving me in charge of other arrangements. I know he wants to see the animals, and would like a quiet room. Any suggestions on where we should stay and how to make room requests?

    Hi Janis,

Your family is in for a real treat!  Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is an animal lover's paradise.  Can you imagine how cool it will be to wake up and potentially see a giraffe grazing outside your balcony?  Nothing like reading your morning paper while the gazelles amble by.

I've stayed at this resort in recent months and I'd have to say that it would be hard to find a noisy room at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Noise is kept at a minimum so as not to startle the animals.  However, the farther you are from the lobby, the better your chances are of securing a room with little foot traffic outside your door.  Unless someone in your travel party has mobility issues, I would ask for a savanna view room near the end of one of the "trails," or hallways.  Personally, I would probably request a room at the end of Zebra Trail.  You can make this request with the reservation agent when you call to book your accommodations.  If you've already made your reservation, just call Disney reservations or your travel agent back to add your room request.  Room requests are not guaranteed, but the Cast Members who assign rooms will make every effort to meet your request.

Sending extra pixie dust your way for a truly magical vacation with your family.  I'm sure your father will be impressed with your vacation-planning acumen.  Just let us know if you have any additional questions.  We'd be happy to help.
