Hi Rosa -- thank you for coming to the planDisney Panel with your question.
One of my favorite qualities about the
Disneyland Resort is the resort’s size. I love how large the resort is because it means there is so much to do in every corner, but I also appreciate how compact the resort is, making things like Park Hopping (or switching between one theme park and another) extremely easy.
For individuals with
permanent or temporary mobility challenges, the theme parks allow Guests to bring mobility aids such as a wheelchair, ECV, or even a knee scooter. But before I let you go, I want to share with you a paid service Disneyland Resort offers to Guests, which is the
wheelchair and ECV rental service. If your father would be more comfortable in a wheelchair or ECV, he can rent one in several places throughout the park, and they can even hold his knee scooter in storage for the day while using the rental. When I was a kid, my father had similar physical needs and rented an ECV. It made his time at the Happiest Place on Earth much more comfortable and enjoyable.
Regardless of whether your father uses his knee scooter or rents something from the resort, there is a ton of information on the
Disneyland Resort website about navigating the resort with mobility limitations. I highly recommend giving the webpage a read before arriving.
I hope you have a fantastic time with your father. Please come back to planDisney if you think of any other questions we can help you with.
Happy planning,
Lola
