Hello Guadalupe!
Thank you for bringing your question to planDisney! I know when it comes to mobility, it is important to have devices you are familiar with and comfortable using, especially for long days in the theme parks.
Although your dad’s device is primarily used as a walking stick, according to the
Walt Disney World Property Rules, folding chairs are not allowed in any theme park, water park, or Disney Springs. I think it may be best to consider other options in case his walking stick is not allowed into the theme parks.
Your dad does have the option to
rent an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) or wheelchair from inside the theme parks. ECV and
wheelchair rentals can be found at the entrances to the theme parks. If you are planning to park hop, you will only pay for the wheelchair or ECV rental at the first park you visit. When you leave the theme park, return your device, then present your rental receipt at the next theme park for another ECV or wheelchair, subject to availability.
My fellow panelist
Brenda also recommended a rollator walker in a previous answer about mobility devices. This device will provide the stability your dad needs, with an attached seat.
I hope this gave you some options to consider, Guadalupe! Your visit is coming up soon, I know you’ll have a magical time visiting Walt Disney World Resort with your dad! Please visit us again at planDisney if you have any future questions!
