    Hi Moms, I am DAD with 4 kids 7,5,3,1..looking at po Riverside or Cabins in Oct for Halloween is there a preference?

    Hi John!  If you are planning  a trip over Halloween I would strongly suggest Fort Wilderness cabins!  There will be so much to do during the days surrounding Halloween such as cabin decoration contests, site contests, pet parades, golf cart parades, pumpkin decorating, trick or treating, games and much more.  This is all done right in the Fort Wilderness property and a little known secret to so many other guests in the other resorts!  There is also a Haunted Carriage ride that takes place each night at several different times that will tell the story of Sleeping Hollow with a surprise guest appearance along the way!

    The cabins will give you a nice peaceful setting for the kids as well.  The bedroom is small but comfortable with bunk beds and a double bed.  The double Murphy bed in the living area is easy to pull down at night.  The bathroom is large and adequate and the full kitchen is very good for families so you aren't having to head out to parks or restaurants for all your meals.  There is a grill for each cabin where you can throw on some hotdogs or burgers for a special treat  and can get much of what you need at the Trading Posts.  Storage is lacking but with good organization you can get by.  There are two tvs in each cabin and also a DVD player in the living area.

    If you want to pre order groceries to be there when you arrive you can do that through gardengrocer.com. Its a great service and one I have used many times and it includes baby items and needs.

    Don't forget that Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is located here as well as Hoop Dee Doo Revue and a full service restaurant, Trail's End.  At night head over to the movie and cook out to make s'mores and enjoy!
