My dad has DVC. He’s booked a vacation for us, but he is not coming. Am I able to take him off as guest one so that I can book a dining plan just for the adults that are going? As of now, it looks like he is unmodifiable, do I just need to call disney?

    Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, Amy!

Soon, it's off to Walt Disney World you'll go.  Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney. How exciting that your upcoming Disney vacation is just around the riverbend. I'm sure you can't wait for the treasure trove of magic and memories that await you. So, I'll jump right to your answer.

Amy, if your dad is a Disney Vacation Club Member and he is gifting you a stay using his Vacation Points, he would need to call Member Services for any modifications to your reservation.  Member Services will only be able to speak to the Member, but they should be able to remove his name from the reservation. My parents have done this for us prior to us becoming Members, and it's a wonderful way to share the magic.

I believe that in order to purchase the dining plan, which is tied to your room being booked with Disney Vacation Club Points, he would have to do that through his Disney Vacation Club dashboard or through Member Services. But they are like Fairy Godparents - able to make your Disney vacation dreams come true with a "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!"    Because this reservation is booked with his Vacation Points, Disney Guest Services would not be able to modify it - it would have to be done through Member Services.

Now, once you arrive to your Disney Vacation Club Resort, the cost of the room should be covered by the Disney Vacation Club Points. However, you will need to put a credit card on file for any room charges or incidentals incurred during your stay.

I hope this helps you, Amy!  And, I hope you enjoy making magical memories during the jolliest time of year at the merriest place on earth.  Be sure to visit EPCOT's International Festival of the Holidays, and keep an eye out for the Holiday Storytellers.  It is one of my favorite things to do when visiting Disney this time of year. From La Befana in Italy to Pere Noel in France and Father Christmas in England, it's a wonderful way to discover holiday traditions around the world.

If you have any further questions, soar back here to see me, and I'll be so happy to help you. After all, you've got a friend in me!

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
