Greetings Alana, and welcome to planDisney!
Thank you so much for bringing your question to us here at planDisney today. I am thrilled to hear that you are planning to visit the Walt Disney World Resort during the
50th Anniversary Celebration! Your magical vacation will be here before you know it.
Apparently, Stitch is up to his old tricks again. I am so sorry that you are having trouble reactivating your dad’s
MagicBand. Unfortunately, MagicBands are not transferable, from one My Disney Experience account to another, even if it is for the same person. You can reactivate your dad’s MagicBand by having him log in to his old
My Disney Experience account. He can click on the
MagicBands and Cards tab to see the list of active and deactivated MagicBands. Scroll down to the MagicBand with the matching alphanumeric code and click Activate. This MagicBand is ready to use. Be sure that he checks to make sure he is connected to you in his My Family & Friends list. If not, he can send you an invitation to connect.
If your dad no longer has access to his old My Disney Experience account. He will need to purchase a new MagicBand for the account you have created for him. If you are a guest of a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, now is the time to place a MagicBand order at the pre-arrival discounted prices. If you are an offsite guest, you can still order a MagicBand from
shopDisney. You will need to link it to his new account that you manage in My Disney Experience. You can also purchase a MagicBand when you arrive in select retail locations in Disney Springs and all Disney Theme Parks.
I hope this helps with your planning. If you need any help making your dining or
Enchanting Extras reservations, please come back and visit us again.
See ya real soon,
Andrea
