Hi there Heather, welcome to planDisney!
Wearing a
MagicBand around the theme parks and Disney Resort Hotels all day, I can definitely relate to wanting to add that extra personalized touch to really make it your own, and I've certainly spotted my share of MagicBands that fellow guests have definitely found ways to customize. With
the current generation of MagicBand+, you can customize them in one of two ways:
- There's a way to Customize the way they light up in a variety of different color themes, and select special MagicBands have Special themes that allow them to light up in a unique way. (It's also always a good idea to make sure that your MagicBand+ is fully charged and updated!)
- Aesthetically however, the body of each MagicBand can be customized at locations such as Marketplace Co-Op - D-Tech on Demand over in Disney Springs where you could even personalize them with your name printed along the strap. If you spot one of these kiosks here or in the theme parks be sure to scroll through to browse the different designs and options, and give yourself a bit of time to come back to retrieve them as the Cast Members say they take generally half an hour or more to print.
Be aware that these offerings are always subject to change without prior notice, especially as newer versions and generations of MagicBands can show up and surprise us in the future. As someone who enjoys Disney bounding and spotting some of the great outfits and ensembles that make their way into the theme parks, I've also noticed that guests have found ways to accessorize by creatively using stickers, acrylic paint or even nail polish to have their MagicBands look picture perfect. Have a look around online to get some inspiration from other crafty Disney fans to see how they've used materials and methods that will last through each trip. (Just be careful when you do this at your own risk, as you'll still want yours to be able to function and tap properly at the touch points; I tested out my own designs on an older, unused MagicBand before trying it out on one that I wear more often!)
Hope this helped, Heather! Come on back to planDisney to
ask for any other answers or advice ahead of your next trip, especially if you're coming back for some inspiration at my favorite time of the year - the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts!
Here's to getting creative as you customize your Disney gear!
