I am currently trying to plan our 1st Disney world vacation. There will be four in my party. Myself, husband and 2 children (4 yr old boy, 15 yr old girl) I am looking for April 2016. What are crowds and weather typically like?

    Stefanie:

The month of April brings wonderfully mild weather: warm enough to enjoy not only the pool at your resort but also both of Disney's water parks. Yet, the weather is still cool enough that you aren't languishing in the heat at 9 a.m.  and may even want to have a light jacket handy if you are near the water in the evening. Be prepared for the possibility of afternoon showers and take a poncho for everyone so that you aren't paying a premium in the parks.

The crowds in April depend on the date for Easter, as many schools have the week between Palm Sunday and Easter out for Spring Break. In 2016, Easter is on March 27, so a trip even at the beginning of April will still see lingering crowds. If you're looking to avoid the crowds, visit during the middle or end of the month when schools are back in session and not yet out for the year.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
