We currently have a theme park view room at the Contemporary. Our trip is end of OCT. I have since decided we need a suite or villa and none are avail. What is my best option to snag a bigger room. I want to stay on monorail as my kids r young.

    Hi Tricia!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

Unfortunately, there are not that many suites in the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian.  Did you try Bay Lake Tower?  It has a lot of 1 bedroom units which consist of a separate bedroom and living room / dining room area with a sofa bed.  It is connected to the Contemporary Resort by a bridge; you can ride the monorail to the Magic Kingdom or walk.

Another option are the Villas at Wilderness Lodge.  While it is not on the monorail line, it really it isn't that much longer to the Wilderness Lodge via boat.  That's because the resort monorail is fast one way and longer the other way as you try to go to and from your hotel.  For example, if you are staying at the Grand Floridian, the Magic Kingdom is just one hop away when you are going to the theme park; on the way back, the hotel is 4 stops away since the monorail goes in a loop and first has to stop at the Contemporary, the Transportation and Ticket Center, and the Polynesian.

The Wilderness Lodge is my favorite resort in all of Walt Disney World.  It has great theming, a nice pool, and I love going to and from the Magic Kingdom via boat.  You should definitely ask if there are any villas available during your time frame.

Good luck, and please write back with more questions!
