We currently reserve a villa at a resort where I have always wanted to stay WL. There are no discounts for that resort, but there are for others, going with others and wanting to be mindful of cost. Would we be just as happy if we changed (KW) due to cost

    Hi there, Mark!

Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by to discuss accommodations for your winter getaway to Walt Disney World. There's nothing better than escaping to sunny Florida while the temps are chilly back home. Best wishes for Olaf-approved weather during your trip! Let's talk about lodging options for your crew.

The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Old Key West Resort are both fantastic choices, each offering something special for your adventure. While I can't say for certain which one will make you happiest, I'd love to share what makes each one shine and how you can enjoy a touch of Disney's Wilderness Lodge even if you stay elsewhere.

The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge are gorgeous. The immersive theming of this resort is second to none; the pools are picturesque, and the dining options are plentiful. My family loves the scenic boat transportation to Magic Kingdom Park.

Disney's Old Key West Resort, on the other hand, boasts some of the most spacious accommodations at Walt Disney World. My family has stayed at nearly every resort on property, and the one-bedroom villas here are among our favorites. The layout is perfect for friends and family traveling together, and we love the tranquil atmosphere along the Sassagoula River. Plus, the relaxing ferry ride to Disney Springs is a great way to wind down after a day in the parks. This resort is also centrally located, so you're never too far from theme park fun. Multiple bus stops within the resort make walking to and from transportation a breeze.

Even if you decide to stay somewhere other than Disney's Wilderness Lodge, I highly recommend planning a meal there to enjoy the resort's ambiance and explore the beautiful grounds. One of my favorite ways to take a midday break from Magic Kingdom Park is to have lunch at Geyser Point Bar & Grill. If you prefer to make reservations, Whispering Canyon Cafe and Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White offer unique dining experiences.

I hope this makes your decision easier, Mark. Please write back if there is anything further I can add that might help. I love both resorts, and I think you'll be happy to call either home. Thanks again for sending your question to planDisney. We'd love to hear from you again!

Have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow,
    Betsy
