Hi Leah,
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You are planning a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort at a fantastic time of year. Not only will you be able to enjoy the amazing Christmas decorations at the theme parks and
Disney Resort hotels, but that is also generally a time when crowds tend to be lighter than later in December.
Flying in on the evening of December 5th will allow you to start your vacation bright and early on the morning of December 6th so you can maximize your time enjoying the theme parks, recreation and Disney Springs. All
Disney dining plans are linked to your reservation and will give you one set of entitlements for each person on your reservation for each night of your reservation. So if you add a night to your reservation, you will automatically receive additional dining entitlements for each person on your reservation. Unfortunately, there is no option to apply a dining plan to only a portion of your reservation.
In this case, I would recommend that you book a separate reservation for the night of December 5th. This will give you a room for the evening of your arrival without increasing the dining entitlements you will have for the rest of your vacation. Your dining entitlements will become active on the morning of December 6th when your next reservation starts. You could even choose to book a reservation at a different Disney Resort hotel so you can enjoy two different experiences during your trip!
Please let us know if you have any additional questions as you continue planning. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
