I currently have a reservation for Port Orleans Riverside. Upon doing some checking we could actually afford to upgrade to a Standard View Room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Would appreciate any recommendation you could offer.

Hi Tammy! I am so excited to be able to help you answer another question!

I think that both Port Orleans Riverside and Animal Kingdom Lodge are beautiful resorts. They both have so many amenities to offer and there are so many reasons that I can think of that would make me want to stay at both of these resort hotels.

I will say that for my family we travel on a budget. To us we do love to stay at a nice resort, but we also like to make sure that we have enough extra money to buy souvenirs, treats, and even participate in some special extras like the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party, or getting transformed into Pirates at The Pirates League in Magic Kingdom Park.

If I was in your position I would choose to stay at Port Orleans Riverside. I like that this resort offers southern hospitality and charm and is more affordable. While the property is fairly large, it is easy to navigate and I feel that the transportation to and from the theme parks is efficient and doesn’t seem like it takes a long time to get from place to place.

If I could afford to stay in a savannah view room at Animal Kingdom Lodge, then I would choose to stay here. To me being able to watch the animals from my room would make the cost worthwhile. Animal Kingdom Lodge is truly stunning and the attention to detail in the décor almost takes your breath away.

I think that with this decision, you have to follow your heart and think about what is important to you. I don’t think that you can go wrong with either choice. Our family doesn’t tend to spend a lot of time in our resort hotel, so that is why we usually stay at a more affordable hotel
I hope that you are able to make this decision easily! I hope that your vacation is filled with pixie dust!
