Hi, Jennifer!
Trying to decide which one of the beautiful Resorts
at Walt Disney World can be a tough decision because they're all so
different and gorgeous! Disney's Port Orleans Resorts are both just
amazing and I'll do my best to give you some helpful info on both in
hopes of making your decision easier!
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter
is themed around the REAL historic French Quarter in New Orleans, LA.
It's a rather small resort with just over 1000 Guest rooms and only one
bus stop. I absolutely love the feel of this resort with all of the
wrought-iron railings and cobblestone walkways. The Mardi Gras-themed
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is a festive and convenient
eatery that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside,
on the other hand, is a much larger Resort with well over 2000 Guest
rooms. It's themed more along the lines of the rural Louisiana Bayou.
The true Southern Charm feel here is just gorgeous and the recently
remodeled Royal Rooms are truly fit for a Prince or Princess! There are four bus stops at this Resort. One bus is normally shared between the two Resorts. It typically takes about 15 minutes to travel through all five stops between the two properties.
I happen to really love the small feel of the French Quarter, but Riverside is gorgeous as well! I hope I've given you some details that will help with your decision. Portorleans.org is a very good unofficial website that has tons of detailed information about both Resorts as well.
Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your question, Jennifer, and please stop back by if you have any other questions!
Wishing you Pixie Dusted vacation planning!
