Hello, I am currently planning our first Disney vacation and my 2 girls (5 and 7) are thrilled. Do the resorts/restaurants/parks do anything special for first time guests? Thank you

    Hi, Tiffany!

Your first Walt Disney World vacation, and you'll be heading there with two little princesses! You must be so excited!

Take a look at the Celebration Recognition Buttons which are pictured on WDW's page entitled "Customize Your Special Occasion." You can pick up those buttons, which are complimentary, at your WDW resort check-in or at any Guest Services located within the parks. This will ensure that every Cast Member who sees those gleaming buttons next to those beaming smiles will take extra care of you and your girls during your stay. (They make great souvenirs, too!)

I suggest that you often mention that this is your first stay when you check out at shops, check in at restaurants and, generally, any time you find yourself in a situation where you know that a little insider information may help. Oftentimes, Cast Members do a little something special if they are able to do so due to special occasions. For example, on my little guy's first trip (after having been there as an infant) a bus driver allowed him to sit in the drivers' seat of a (parked) bus and game him an honorary drivers' card. On the next trip, the same little guy was so sad one night that his dad wasn't able to join us on our trip, that he was allowed to be an honorary conductor on the Walt Disney World Railroad, and used the mic to shout "all aboard!" (Tears dried up pretty quickly.) Generally speaking, if Cast Members know that it's your first visit, many will try to make this most magical visit even more memorable. Even time-saving tips, suggestions for where to view fireworks or other advice can go a long way for a family who has never needed to navigate WDW.

Have a wonderful first visit, Tiffany! Be sure to send more questions as you think of them...and I expect there will be MANY! We love to help!
