Hi I am currently planning a Disney trip for thanksgiving. I will be 5 months and would like to know if I can do my gender real at Disneyland or California adventure. This is my 6th and final baby. None of my other children know I’m pregnant let a

    Hi there, Nicole!

Welcome to planDisney and congratulations on your pregnancy! Welcoming a new member of your family is so exciting. I've spent some time at the Disneyland Resort during both of my own pregnancies, and I'd love to share some tips with you!

Yes! You are welcome to celebrate your gender reveal at the Disneyland Resort. Just make sure that you follow the Disneyland Resort Rules and don't bring any prohibited items to be part of your big surprise. I would recommend making your announcement in a spot with a Disney PhotoPass Photographer to take pictures for you!

A baby announcement or gender reveal can be as simple as shouting "You're getting a new sibling!" or "It's a boy!" while you have a photo taken! But you can also get a little bit creative. Some fun gender reveal ideas might be purchasing a plush toy or baby outfit to surprise your older kids, or buying baby's first Mickey Ears at the Mad Hatter and having them embroidered with your due date or family name in pink or blue thread. Make sure you keep these items wrapped up in the bag after your purchase, so no one peeks!

I know some expecting couples like to pick two outfits or plush toys that are the same price, take both items to the Cast Member at the checkout, and then give the Cast Member an envelope with the gender inside and ask them to package the toy or outfit that matches the gender of your baby. That way you can be surprised, too! You could even open this surprise item while you visit with a favorite character so that they can be part of your announcement. Mickey's House is a great location for a more private experience!

When it comes to being pregnant in the parks, there are some (but not many) attractions that expectant mothers are advised to not ride. Sometimes that was really disappointing for me, but I usually cheered myself up with a snack! If you use the Disneyland Mobile App to order your treat then you might even be able to finish it before the rest of your family gets back and you have to share. It'll be our little secret!

Nicole, I know that pregnancy can be totally amazing but also very hard. I hope you'll take time to relax, drink lots of water, and enjoy the parks. Have an incredible visit with your super family!

    Keep moving forward!
