Hello and welcome to planDisney, Cynthia! I'm so glad you have stopped by to ask your question. I see that your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is right around the corner, I bet you are getting so excited.
Cynthia, unfortunately,
MagicBands cannot be unlinked from their original owner and then linked to another Guest. Your younger son will not be able to use his older brother's MagicBand for the trip. He can, however, use his old MagicBand from a previous trip. When you all arrive, he might see a new one in a gift shop that catches his eye. There are so many different designs to choose from, I have a feeling he will see one he likes. Another option, if he doesn't want to use his old MagicBand, is to stop by the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that you guys are staying at and pick up a complimentary Keys to the World card. These cards do a lot of what the MagicBands can do and come in a few different fun designs. The cards can open the resort room door, have park tickets linked to them and can have charging privileges on them. He might like having a different option from the rest of the family - and it's free!
So I noticed that your trip is at the end of June and I'm guessing you'll be staying for several days. I wanted to mention to you, in case you haven't heard yet, that
fireworks are returning to Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot on July 1st. Isn't that exciting? Cynthia, I hope you will rework some of your itinerary to include one or two of the shows.
Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom Park is my all-time favorite fireworks display. I was actually at the theme park when it made its debut and it just wowed me from the start. At Epcot, a newer firework display is going to be making its return -
Epcot Forever. The Disney Parks Blog has said this show is a "spectacle of fireworks, music and lighting effects over the World Showcase Lagoon, highlighting the themes of innovation, exploration, imagination and celebration at the core of the park's past, present and future." It's great and I can't wait to experience it again!
Cynthia, I hope this helps! If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to
come back and ask me. Have fun!
