I currently have magic bands for my family. And have had them for about two years. How do I know if the battery is still valid and able to use them? Also, can someone tell me how many park days I have available on each band?

    Hi Tricia,

Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for your question!

Since your MagicBands are from two years ago, they aren’t like MagicBand+, which means they actually don’t need a battery charge. This means you can continue to use them at any time! If your MagicBands were linked in your My Disney Experience account with a prior trip (ex. you used them for entrance into the Theme Parks), they should still be linked to your account. Let’s check!

Within the My Disney Experience mobile app, select the three horizontal lines in the bottom right. Next, select the “MagicBands and More” box. Here you should see all of the guests who have some type of MagicBand or card linked to your account. If you select a guest, you’ll see all the MagicBands that have been added and you’ll see if they’re “Activated” and ready to be used. If one isn’t activated, you can always re-link it by selecting the “Link” button and entering the code under the MagciBand. I have MagicBands from years ago as well and use them often, so as long as they are linked, they should be ready for use on your vacation!

Now, if you’re looking to see if you have any available tickets on your account, select those three horizontal lines again, then select “Tickets and Passes”. In this area, you will see all the tickets or Annual Passes associated with your account (if any). If you don’t see anything here, that means it’s time to purchase some tickets! To do that, you can select the “+” button in the menu bar at the bottom, then select “Buy Tickets and Passes”. If you’d rather do this online, simply sign into My Disney Experience and purchase from there.

Once your tickets are booked, remember to book your Disney Park Pass reservations. These are needed in combination with your tickets for entry into the Theme Parks for each guest, every day they want to enjoy the Theme Parks!

I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is useful as you prepare for your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation. If you have any other planning or vacation questions in the meantime, please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
