Hi there, Senneca! Welcome to planDisney - so glad you stopped by. As a longtime
Disney Vacation Club Member myself, I always enjoy sharing our family's experience and offering tips to help potential Members make their decision about joining. Let's get down to business, shall we?
We took some time to do our homework before purchasing our contract. A DVC Membership is a significant financial commitment for most, and we wanted to be sure that our decision was the right one. It definitely was for us - we've enjoyed all sorts of magical adventures at Disney destinations beyond our Home Resort, from our first trip to
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii to
Disneyland Resort and beyond!
Senneca, I can't speak to the specifics of the resale contract that you mention, but in my experience I would assume that the 2026
Vacation Points would be those distributed in December of 2026. Keep in mind that you can likely borrow 2026 points into the
2025 Use Year which starts December 1, 2025. You would be able to make a reservation at your Home Resort only beginning 11 months before check-in - so you could conceivably book something for December of 2025 using the 2026 points when that
Home Resort Priority Period opens for you in January 2025. For the most accurate information, you should contact the seller directly and ask for all of the relevant information about the contract. Keep in mind that Memberships purchased on the resale market are not eligible for certain Member benefits, as well.
I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes! Please come back to planDisney anytime, we're happy to help answer any questions about Disney Vacation Club or Disney destinations in general. Thanks so much for visiting!
Stay Magical!
Susan
