Hey there Van! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your ticket question.
As you know, now printed tickets are no longer printed and mailed out. The ticketing system for Disneyland Resort is now mostly done via eTickets. I do believe that when you scan your QR code or ticket barcode from the Disneyland app for the first time at the park entrance turnstile, you will be given a printed ticket.
You mentioned needing the ticket to scan for attractions. You won't need to scan your ticket to ride an attraction in the standby line. The only time you would need to scan a ticket would be if you have purchased
Disney Genie+ or have booked an
Individual Lightning Lane. Then you can scan your ticket to enter the Lightning Lane. However, like your eTickets, these barcodes will also be available in the
Disneyland app for you.
I know some prefer having a paper ticket versus using the app to pull up their tickets and Lightning Lane suggestions. I tend to misplace the paper tickets and get overwhelmed handing them out to my whole family for rides and as we park hop every time. To make the digital tickets even easier for me, I take screenshots of each ticket barcode and have them saved in a folder in my Photos app on my phone. This is usually easier to open and get to than the app. I've also heard from friends that they actually make their ticket their screensaver so that it's right there every time they pull out their phone. I think that's pretty smart!
Van, I hope this answers your question and you can continue to plan out the final details for your visit to Disneyland Resort. See you real soon!
