I currently have the enchant key and it expires January 8th, should I let it expire and wait out for the Explore or am I able to change to it once it comes out? And what would the monthly on that one be?

    Hi there, Sofia!

Welcome to planDisney. I bet you are as excited as I am about the new Explore Key! It looks like a great opportunity to visit Disneyland Resort many times throughout the year.

Since your Magic Key expired on January 8, 2026, I assume you have already chosen how you want to move forward. I'm sorry we weren't able to get to your question sooner! Still, I wanted to share what I learned after chatting with a Cast Member today.

According to the Cast Member, Guests who currently hold an Enchant Key are eligible to renew their Magic Key through January 12, 2025. After that, they can choose to upgrade to the Explore Key when it is released on January 13, 2025, through the Magic Key page (subject to availability). The Cast Member also mentioned that the current monthly payment for most California residents would be $75 for twelve months, after paying the price difference between the existing Enchant Key and Explore Key at the time of the upgrade. Of course, prices are subject to change, so I recommend upgrading as soon as you can.

Don't forget to take advantage of the many perks currently available to Magic Key holders! The merchandise discounts always make it easier to pick up souvenirs from my visits, and I appreciate the savings when dining at many of the restaurants throughout the theme parks. The discount on Lightning Lane Multi Pass is another great perk! It makes skipping the standby lines on many attractions even more worthwhile!

Sofia, I hope 2026 is a great year for you! We hope to see you real soon!

    Magic Happens!
