Hi, We are currently booked on a 7 night Caribbean cruise in February aboard the Magic. My 2 boys 2 & 7 have severe food allergies. What can I do to make sure they have the proper & safe food aboard the ship?

    Hi Colleen,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  This is a very common concern, and to get more useful information to pass along to guests visiting the Moms Panel, I had the opportunity to tour the galley and speak with the executive chef regarding how Disney Cruise Line handles food allergies.

You'll be pleased to hear that Disney Cruise Line can accommodate just about any dietary restriction or food allergy.  They do pay close attention to detail, for instance there are special procedures for dealing with these foods to prevent cross contamination

When booking your voyage, you should have the allergies noted on your reservation.  Prior to your cruise I suggest that you complete the medical form to outline the allergies.  Once onboard you server will confirm the restrictions, and the chef will introduce himself and give you the opportunity to ask any questions and address your concerns.

I once sailed with a family member that has a severe peanut allergy, the culinary staff was wonderful about handling his meals - and assisting him in choosing buffet items safely.

    I hope this helps!
