I currently have Apr 2012 reservations at Carribean B; however, I am trying to decide if we (hus, wife, 4 yo boy) should change to Poly or Contemp...for convenience & monorail? If so, which would be the best for a 4 year old? This will our first trip

Hi Nicole! Choosing a resort is always a tough but also a fun decision when planning your Walt Disney World vacation!

The Polynesian and the Contemporary resorts are both in the deluxe category where the Caribbean Beach is a moderate resort. This will push the cost up by changing but there are some excellent perks to both.  The Contemporary resort is an excellent place to stay as the main building rooms tend to be some of the largest on property. You have the convenience of the monorail running directly through the building (and it is very quiet) plus you have some fine dining options right at your door step.  There is a great pool and marina where you can choose various recreation possibilities.  It is also just a quick boat ride away from Fort Wilderness which is a place that holds many fun things to do such as carriage rides, pony rides, HoopDeeDoo, and Mickey's Backyard Barbecue.

With that said the Polynesian is the resort I would choose for you and your young son. It is a beautiful relaxed atmosphere and very comfortable for families.  The pool is fun and the beach is gorgeous offering some of the best views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks at night.  You will have the option of either taking the monorail or the boat over to the park and you are a short walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center where you can hop on a bus to get just about anywhere on property! I think you will find this resort a good fit and it probably is the one that has the most return guests year after year!
