I have a current reservation, and wanted to see if I can upgrade my room to something larger.

Hello Amie, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for sending your question our way, and I'm happy to assist you.

You must be so excited that your Walt Disney World vacation is just about here. Let the final countdown to magic begin! If you're looking to upgrade your current accommodations, you can first see if this is possible online. From your My Disney Experience account, use the dropdown menu to choose "My Plans" and then find your current resort hotel reservation. Next to the confirmation number or in the "Show Details" section, you might see a button that says "Change Reservation." If you do, click on it and follow the prompts to view available options in the Disney Resorts Collection

If you don't have the choice to modify your reservation online, you'll want to call (407) 939-1936 and speak to a Cast Member about upgrading your resort room. More than once, my family has decided to switch to larger accommodations before the start of a vacation, and pending availability, it can be done.

If it's more space and in-room amenities you're looking for, I recommend a one-bedroom villa in a Deluxe Villa Resort. These spacious lodgings offer multiple sleeping areas (ideal when traveling with two couples or small children), full kitchens, and laundry. We especially love the one-bedroom living at Disney's Old Key West Resort (these expansive villas are larger than my husband and my first apartment!) and Disney's Riviera Resort. No matter where you choose, you'll enjoy relaxing in space and luxury between theme park visits.

If you're satisfied with your current resort choice, but would like more space or an extra bathroom, consider adding a second room to your reservation and requesting connecting rooms. When my oldest Mouseketeer was a toddler, we always had a few extra family members with us and liked having adjoining rooms so he could nap in one room while the other adults spent time together in the connecting room. Not all resorts offer this type of accommodation, and a request is not guaranteed, so I recommend giving Disney a call to book if you're going to go in this direction.

I hope everything works out for you, Amie! There's truly something for every taste and budget in the Disney Resorts Collection, and I know you'll find something that fits your travel party's needs. Thanks again for coming by to see us, and have a magical vacation!
