Hey There, Allan!
Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home from a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member. It looks like you'll be arriving for your next Disney Parks adventure in just a few weeks –– I bet the excitement is really starting to set in! Before you arrive, be sure to download your
new Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card so you can take advantage of all your Member Benefits during your visit. You can do this right from the My Disney Experience mobile app by adding a Disney MagicMobile pass to your smartphone's digital wallet. It's quick and easy, just the way a vacation should be!
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, Disney Vacation Club temporarily restricted the
borrowing of Vacation Points beginning in April 2020 and as of now, the policy is still in effect. This policy states that Members can't borrow more than 50% of their available Points from the upcoming Use Year. If a reservation is made using Points above that 50% threshold, it will be automatically canceled within seven days. And while we haven't heard any news about this policy changing, as Disney Parks restrictions are lifted, I'm hopeful that Points borrowing will return to normal soon.
If you need to borrow more than 50% of your Vacation Points for your upcoming stay, one option you might consider is purchasing
one-time-use Points to make up the difference. Each year, Members have the option to purchase up to additional 24 Vacation Points for the current Use Year. Currently, the cost of one-time-use Points is $19 per Point, which includes taxes, although rates are subject to change. You can purchase these Points at the time you make a reservation by calling Member Services at (800) 800-9800. Just keep in mind that one-time-use Vacation Points are nonrefundable, they can't be banked, borrowed, or transferred, and they expire at the end of your current Use Year.
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney, Allan. However you choose to use your Vacation Points, I hope your upcoming visit is filled with Membership magic from beginning to end!
See Ya Real Soon,
Amy
