Ryan, welcome to planDisney. Indeed, I have my own Starwars-obsessed young padawan, so have first-hand experience in transporting home a precious saber.
You are able to ship your lightsaber back home! The handbuilt sabers at
Savi's Workshop come with a carry case that can help protect their power. The experts at Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities or the Droid Depot may be able to help you package and send your saber on its journey. You can also ship from your Disney Resort hotel gift shop using
Home Delivery. If you can't bear to be apart, Lightsabers are also TSA-approved and can be brought on a plane either via checked or carry-on luggage. We chose to keep the saber with us, and we were not the only passengers leaving Orlando Airport with some Jedi gear in tow.
For whatever reason, if you are unable to secure a spot at Savi's Workshop, you can buy a customised saber at
Tatooine Traders. The Cast Members were amazing with my little Jedi Knight. There are often quieter crowd levels here, and there is no need to prebook.
You aren't here for a dining recommendation, but I feel it forms part of my Jedi duty to recommend the Batuuan Beef and Crispy Topato Stir-fry from
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. You can
mobile order here, and eating outside in the crumbling marketplace was one of our treasured memories from our last trip. The immersive
Black Spire Outpost on Batuu will have you completely transported to a remote but thriving planet. You'll have so much fun but watch out for the First Order.
May the force be with you, Ryan. Have an epic trip, Louise
