What is the current mode of transpiration to a Disney Resort from MCO Orlando International Airport, since there is no longer Disney's Magical Express?

Hey there, Deborah. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

As of January 1, 2022, Disney's Magical Express Service is no longer offered. Walt Disney World has not offered up a replacement service at this time. It will be up to you to get from the Orlando airport to Walt Disney World for your most magical vacation. Believe it or not, Deborah, I've been vacationing at Walt Disney World for so long that I actually remember a time when Disney's Magical Express Service wasn't offered. Thankfully, you have several different options to get you to where you want to go. They just take a little bit of preplanning.

My favorite way to get to Walt Disney World, even when Disney's Magical Express was still offered, is to use a rideshare service. Both major companies service the area so you can use your favorite one. I actually like to check both apps before deciding because sometimes one is running a special. I find rideshares to be the quickest, most affordable and direct way of getting to Walt Disney World. Another option is to use a traditional taxi. They are waiting right outside the doors of the Orlando airport. I find the cost to be slightly higher than that of a rideshare but some people are just more comfortable going that traditional route. What we used to do back in the day was hire a car service to be waiting on us at the airport. They'd hold the sign with our name on it (which was always really fun) and help us with our luggage. Cars can range from a Town Car, SUV, passenger van and if you are really fancy - a limousine. A quick internet search will turn up several companies in the area that provide this service. A new option to look into, Deborah, is Mears Connect. Mears is actually the company that Disney contracted the Magical Express out to. Since their contract expired they decided to offer their own service. Because it just started on January 1st, I don't have first-hand experience with it yet. However, you can head over to their website to check out all of the details.

As you can tell, you still have a lot of transportation options. If you have any other questions about this or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
