If my current Disneyland Magic Key expires 12/24/22, and I renew today, will the start date of my new Magic Key be 12/25/22 or will it be today's date? Magic Key will expire one year from the start date?

    Hiya, Wilson!

Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending this Disneyland Resort Magic Key question to us hEAR!

Oh boy! I love that you enjoyed your first 12 months of magic as a Disneyland Resort Magic Keyholder so much that you're already ready for and excited about yEAR two! I'm happy to share that when you renew your Disneyland Magic Key annual pass, you'll basically be adding 365 days to your current expiration date. While you won't see a change in service between December 24 and December 25, after you renew, the expiration date of your Key in your Disneyland Mobile App should say December 24, 2023.

Bonus tip/fun fact: Should you decide to renew next yEAR (ie: yEAR three), your expiration date will change by one day in 2024 due to Leap Day. This is because Magic Key annual passes are valid based on 365 days, not a full calendar year with a bonus day. This would then make your expiration date December 23, 2024, but we can worry about that next yEAR.

Wilson, are you following the official Disneyland Resort Magic Key Instagram account yet? There are so many cool bonus perks to your membership, like nifty gifties, exclusive photo opps, and members-only merchandise, and they are the official place to lEARn about all of those cool extras. And while we're talking about members-only benefits, make sure you visit the Magic Key Terrace in Disney California Adventure Park!

I hope that this helped to clEAR your question up, Wilson! Be sure to follow the official planDisney Panel Instagram account where we're sharing all kinds of tips and tricks. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort or Magic Key planning questions, We're All Ears!
