Was curious as to the weather in WDW the first of October. My husband and I were there that time of year in 2002. I remember it still being warm enough for shorts and tank tops. Am I remembering correctly? And should our kids expect to be able to swim?

Hi Lora!  Your memory is spot on for the weather in Florida during the first weeks of October. Of course there are always exceptions but generally it is still warm and still humid.  The kids will be able to swim as much as they wish and even on cooler days Disney does heat all their pools to 82 degrees.  Shorts and tank tops should work but since this is the time of year that starts changing I would also put in heavier type tops for early mornings and late evenings.  I was just there this weekend and it was HOT and HUMID!
