Howdy, Denae! Welcome to planDisney.
How exciting that you're planning a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth during the
50th Anniversary Celebration. The moment your eyes catch a glimpse of Cinderella Castle in its spectacular EARidescent colors is sure to create a core memory day.
Planning a family vacation to Walt Disney World Resort can be overwhelming. However, you've got a friend in me. Let me suggest some things that'll help you as you set out on your Disney adventure.
To book a vacation package, one option is to
speak directly to a Cast Member. They can help you plan a vacation that accords with your budget. They'll be able to book accommodation and tickets for you, as well as answer any questions you might have. You also price up a vacation on the
Walt Disney World website too. Another option is to find an authorized Disney vacation planner. There are a number of no-fee agents who can help you plan your vacation (often even saving you lots of money in the process).
Whatever option you choose, here are some of my own personal planning tips:
I'd encourage you to consider staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. There are a variety of options available to meet the needs of people on different budgets. With their unique storytelling, theming, and customer service, Disney Resorts truly immerse you in the magic. Make sure you become familiar with all the
magical benefits that are available to Guests staying on property.
Now I don't like food, I LOVE it! One of the many benefits of staying on property is the ability to make
dining reservations up to 60 days in advance of your trip plus the length of your stay (up to 10 days). Since restaurants fill up quickly, this means that you are far more likely to book a table. My planDisney friends have
tons of recommendations when it comes to places to eat.
There are four Theme Parks and two Water Parks on property (although Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently closed for refurbishment). Magic Kindom Park is the most iconic (and my personal favorite). However, each Theme Park is delightfully magical in its own way. Once you have purchased your Theme Park ticket(s), you'll want to create a My Disney Experience account. You can then make reservations at the Theme Park(s) you'd like to visit.
Next, I'd encourage you to download the
My Disney Experience Mobile app so that you can use the new (and free)
Disney Genie service. This will help you plan your day in a way that is catered to you and your family.
Finally, as you plan and anticipate your trip, keep stopping by planDisney. We're always here to share our knowledge and expertise for the benefit of our fellow Guests. Follow us on

I hope that's helpful, Denae. See ya real soon!
