Hi Jaime! Welcome to planDisney!
I'm happy to hear you'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort later this year! Before you know it, you'll be splish-splashing around the water parks enjoying some fun in the sun! Let's dive into your question and help you plan for a magical stay.
The
Ski Patrol Training Camp is an attraction located at
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. There is no minimum or maximum height requirement to enter and is meant for all Guests to enjoy. As you mentioned, there is one part of the area called Fahrenheit Drops, which is a zipline that ends in the water and is designed for Guests 5 feet and under. With your son being over this mark, he'll have to sit this one out. Otherwise, he should be able to enjoy everything else happening inside this attraction, including the Thin Ice Training Course. My daughters loved testing their balance on this slippery path.
If your son is a fan of thrills, there is no better ride to check out than
Summit Plummet. This is a 360-foot, near-vertical drop that is sure to amaze even the biggest thrill seekers. I had the chance to take a ride on it last year, and it did not disappoint. I tried to talk my 10-year-old into trying it out and she easily passed on the opportunity.
Jaime, you may already know, but if you're staying in a Disney Resorts hotel during your stay, you'll receive a complimentary visit to the water park on your check-in day. In fact,
both Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Blizzard Beach Water Park will be open upon your arrival. They are slated to both stay open until September 7th. You'll have the choice to visit either one during your stay.
Have a magical trip!
