Hey there Timothy, it's great to see ya here at planDisney!
I'm one of those people who has been very personally invested in the refurbishment and reimagining of
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa over the past few years, especially since my husband and I became
Disney Vacation Club members who call this very special place home and even had our
Disney Wedding here as the construction work began! I've been back over a hundred times now to closely observe the refurbishment as it progressed across the rooms and common areas of each building and even to dining locations like
Cítricos,
Narcoossee's and the most recently reopened
1900 Park Fare.
You'll be happy to hear that at the time of writing,
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort pools appear to require no additional work to be done neither in nor around them ahead of your upcoming trip, and the only things that curiously remain closed at the current time are the
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique location on the second floor as well as the
Garden View Tea Room adjacent to the lobby. The Cast Members are currently unable to say whether these will reopen and be available by the end of the year, but they were confidently looking forward to the work underway at
M. Mouse Mercantile being completed this month. Looking around the rest of the resort, everything else appears to be completed at the moment, though there are plans for work to be done with the
Grand Floridian Convention Center and fellow guests and Grand Floridian devotees continue to wonder as to whether and when any major work will be done to the lobby itself!
I recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for any updates ahead of your trip, especially when it comes to the
annual Gingerbread House display as it gets assembled for the holidays. You'll find that latest news on there in case anything is suddenly announced, but here's hoping you won't be impacted by any refurbishment during a time of year when
the holidays can be a little hectic around Walt Disney World Resort!
