We were curious about the House of blues in downtown disney. There is a concert our kids would love to see, but we are wondering if they are old enough for the venue. The kids are 4 and 7. Thanks

    Hi Jen,

I'm like you - I love giving my children the opportunity to experience live music. I wish I could say that I do it because I'm following the lead of some research on cognitive development. Nope...I do it simply because it's so fun to watch them get their groove on!

You asked a great question about the concerts at the House of Blues. If you're buying the tickets in advance, you'll notice that the House of Blues website will redirect you to one of those third-party companies that handles most of the live event ticket sales across the U.S. On that site, there's a link labeled "Event Info" where you can see if there are any age restrictions for a particular show.

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

Not only is the House of Blues an awesome venue to see live music, but the restaurant is awesome as well! If you and your children are planning to rock out, you'll need some good fuel before the show. Swing by their restaurant, Crossroads, and see what celebrity chef Aaron Sanchez has put together for their menu.

(My personal favorite is the Jambalaya!)

I hope that helps! Please feel free to write back if you should have any additional questions and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
    Derek
