Hey there, Rachel! Welcome to planDisney. My oh my, what a wonderful day it is when I get to talk about one of my favorite topics -
Disney Vacation Club! Let's get down to business and track down the information you'll need for a magical 2025 stay.
DVC is different from traditional timeshare programs in many ways, which really appealed to us when we were deciding about joining ourselves! The most unique aspect is that Members purchase a certain number of
Vacation Points that are connected to a particular resort - this becomes their Home Resort. You can make a reservation at your Home Resort starting 11 months before your check-in date and can book at any of the other DVC resorts in Florida, California, Hawaii, and South Carolina beginning 7 months before arrival. Beyond that, you can use points to book stays at
Disney Collection hotels around the world, sail the ocean blue with
Disney Cruise Line, or exchange points for a wide variety of non-Disney accommodations worldwide with
Interval International.
Rachel, as for how many points you need for an 8-night stay in late October 2025 - it depends on a few different factors. Each resort is listed on the handy DVC
Points Charts, which show the number of points needed per night. This varies depending on what time of year you're visiting, and the type of accommodations you wish to stay in. A 2-Bedroom Villa at
The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa during the December holidays will take many more points than a Deluxe Studio at
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa in early May. In general, you need between 110 and 200 Vacation Points for eight nights in a Studio in October/November and 200 or more for a 1-Bedroom Villa or anything larger. For instance, here are the points needed for
Disney's Old Key West Resort in October 2025, based on six weeknights and two weekend nights:
- Deluxe Studio: 112 Vacation Points
- One-Bedroom Villa: 236 Vacation Points
- Two-Bedroom Villa: 322 Vacation Points
- Three-Bedroom Grand Villa: 496 Vacation Points
If you are considering joining Disney Vacation Club, it's a good idea to book
time with one of the helpful Guides. You can do this virtually or in person - they are a fantastic resource, as they will be up-to-date on any current incentives that may apply to the purchase of a new Membership.
I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Rachel! It's been a pleasure. If our planDisney squad can help with any other questions about DVC or Disney destinations in general, please reach out anytime. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Stay Magical!
