Hi, we are crusing this May to the Caribbean on the Disney Magic. Any activities recommendations for our 1½ yr toddler, and we would like to know when is going to be the pirate night? Thanks!!!

Hello, Christian! Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you thought to sail our way as you prepare for your voyage onboard the Disney Magic

I think you'll have a wonderful time onboard making memories with your toddler. Disney Cruise Line wants to make traveling with your little one as easy and fun as possible, so be sure to request a stroller, bed rails, diaper pail, or any other amenities that might be useful to your family

If you are looking for a water play area onboard, toddlers especially love Nephew's Splash Zone to cool off, splash, and play on the Disney Magic. If your little one enjoys meeting Disney Characters, there will be several meet and greets throughout your voyage. You'll be able to view the daily activity schedule within the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you are onboard to see where to meet your favorites. If your toddler likes Disney Princesses, be sure to reserve your spot for the Royal Gathering 30 days before your sailing begins. The Royal Gathering is a complimentary experience where guests can greet several Princesses at once. My children dressed like royalty for the occasion and we got some great photos!

If you are interested in having your toddler spend some time in the "it's a small world" nursery! I recommend that you make reservations as soon as possible. You can also check once you are onboard the ship for reservations, but please be aware that they are limited in availability.

As a family, you can enjoy game shows, craft time, movies, and dance parties! While your child is not yet old enough for Disney's Oceaneer Club and Lab, keep an eye out for Open Houses in both of these spaces. These are times when the youth spaces are open to children of all ages and their families. There are usually Open Houses each day and they are lots of fun for everyone!

According to your specific itinerary, it looks as if Pirate Night is scheduled for the fifth night (Tuesday) of your sailing. Please note that entertainment is subject to change without notice. On a cruise I was on last year, Pirate Night was adjusted by one day to take advantage of clear skies. The Crew Members want to make sure every aspect of your vacation is as excellent as possible! If any changes do take place, they will update the schedule within the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.

I hope I have pointed your compass toward adventure for your future sailing. You'll be visiting some beautiful places on a beautiful ship that is bursting with entertainment, excitement, and world-class service.

    Have an amazing time!
