Ahoy, Kelly!
Castaway Cay is one of my favorite places in the world, and Parasailing is my favorite Port Adventure! There's nothing more exhilarating than flying over the ocean, with a gorgeous view of Disney's gorgeous private island. It's amazing how quiet it is once you're up in the air. Though some may find it a bit scary, I actually find it to be a very peaceful and calming experience.
I've checked in with Disney Cruise Line to find an answer to your question. The agent I spoke with referred me to these two bullet points in the information section on the
Parasailing Port Adventure page:
- Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older. Children aged 13-18 years participating unaccompanied must be escorted to Marge's Barges by a parent or legal guardian 18 years or older.
- All Guests must have a paying ticket and no ride-along Guests are permitted
While your daughter is old enough to participate, she must be accompanied by an adult. That being said, all guests on the boat must have a paying ticket, whether or not they parasail (No ride-alongs). It was explained to me that you're welcome to ride in the boat, but must also purchase a ticket to do so. I encourage you to think about joining her on her flight! (It really is awesome!) She'll probably be paired with another tandem rider, as I was on my first solo flight.
If you have any other questions regarding Parasailing, you can always stop by the Port Adventures Desk once you board the ship. They're more than happy to help!
I hope this helps with your planning. Please let us know if you have further questions about your upcoming cruise! - Diane W.
